When there’s handwriting on a document, most people think they have to manually enter the information. There is a lot of skeptism regarding the accuracy of automated handwriting recognition and what the technology is actually capable of reading.
OCR (Optical character recognition) is a well-known technology able to recognize machine print text with accuracy rates at almost 100%. ICR (Intelligent character recognition) is a somewhat newer technology that while it is being used, it’s mostly for constrained handprint. Natural handwriting, which might even include cursive, has been considered the holy grail. While ICR will probably never achieve the same accuracy rates as OCR, it can read handwriting on practically any document type.
Parascript’s handwriting recognition capabilities simply work and might suprise the most hardned critics.Check out this video that shows how it’s done.
